1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as local storage and pixels — work in comparable ways. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, or measure how it is used. This policy explains which we use and how you control them, under Romanian Law no. 506/2004 (which transposes the EU ePrivacy Directive) and the GDPR.
2. Consent — our approach
Strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent and are always active. We place no other cookie — preferences beyond the essentials, analytics or marketing — without your prior, freely given, specific and informed consent, expressed through a clear affirmative action.
If we introduce non-essential cookies, our consent banner will follow the EU and Romanian standards in force at that time, including current EDPB and ANSPDCP guidance:
- A "reject all" option at the first layer, as visible and easy to use as "accept all".
- No pre-ticked boxes and no cookies set before you choose — consent is opt-in, not opt-out.
- No dark patterns or misleading wording designed to nudge you toward accepting.
- Withdrawing consent is at least as easy as giving it, available at any time.
- We keep a record of the consent given, so we can demonstrate it (Art. 5(2) and 7(1) GDPR).
3. Cookies we use today
At present this website uses only the following strictly-necessary, first-party cookies:
- Language preference (NEXT_LOCALE) — remembers the language you chose so the site loads in it. Strictly necessary, first-party, persists up to 12 months.
- Cookie consent (qatp_consent) — stores the cookie choices you make in our consent banner so we can apply and demonstrate them. Strictly necessary (storing your consent record is exempt from consent), first-party, persists up to 180 days.
4. Categories we may use, with consent
If and when we add the cookies below, we will request your consent first and list each one — with its provider, purpose and duration — here:
- Preferences / functionality — remember choices such as region or display settings. Consent required.
- Analytics / performance — help us understand how visitors use the site (we would favour a privacy-friendly analytics tool). Consent required.
- Marketing / advertising — measure campaigns or show relevant ads. Consent required.
- Strictly necessary — security, load-balancing and the cookie that records your consent choice. No consent required.
5. Third-party cookies
We do not currently load third-party tracking cookies. Our fonts are self-hosted, so no third-party font cookies are set. If we later add third-party tools (for example an analytics provider), we will name them here, describe their purpose and retention, link to their own policies, and obtain consent where the law requires it.
6. How long cookies last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period — for the language cookie, up to 12 months. Any future analytics or marketing cookies will have their durations listed in section 4 before they are used.
7. Managing and withdrawing your consent
You can manage non-essential cookies through our consent banner (when present) and through your browser settings, which let you block or delete cookies and, in most browsers, signal a global privacy preference. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working — for example, your language choice may not be remembered.
8. Cookies and your personal data
Where a cookie processes personal data, we handle it as described in our Privacy Policy, which sets out your GDPR rights and your right to complain to the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro).
9. Changes, languages and contact
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes; the version dated above applies, and we keep it in step with the cookies actually set by the site. It is published in English and Romanian; in the event of any discrepancy, the Romanian version prevails. Questions? Email contact@qatestingplus.com.
